Health & advertising disclaimer
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Who we are
KetoLab (ketolab.ca) is an educational website about ketogenic-style eating, nutrients, original recipes, and public food catalogues. We are not a medical clinic, pharmacy, dietetics practice, or a seller of natural health products.
Not medical advice
Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a prescription, or a substitute for care from a physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, or dietitian licensed in your province or territory.
Do not start, stop, or change medication, fasting, or supplements because of something you read here. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, have diabetes (especially type 1), an eating-disorder history, kidney, liver, thyroid, or gallbladder disease, or you take prescription drugs, speak with a licensed clinician first.
In a medical emergency in Canada call 911. In Québec you can also call Info-Santé 811 for non-emergency health questions.
Canadian advertising and product rules
Health product advertising in Canada is regulated by Health Canada under the Food and Drugs Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. F-27) and its regulations, including the Natural Health Products Regulations (SOR/2003-196). Only products Health Canada has authorized may be advertised, and claims must stay inside the authorized use.
Section 3 of the Food and Drugs Act restricts advertising to the general public of a treatment, prevention, or cure for diseases listed in Schedule A (including, among others, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease, cancer, and depression). KetoLab does not advertise any product as treating, preventing, or curing those conditions.
We do not sell natural health products and we do not assign NPNs. Names of generic forms (for example magnesium glycinate) are educational. They are not an offer to sell, a recommended dose, or a claim that a product is licensed or effective for a disease.
The Competition Act prohibits misleading advertising. Product hits come from Open Food Facts, a third-party database. Shop locations come from OpenStreetMap. We do not control those records, do not verify every label, and do not take a commission on grocery sales.
Québec — French language
KetoLab is offered in French, English, and Spanish. French is available with equal prominence (language switcher in the header) so that commercial information is accessible in French, consistent with the Charter of the French Language as amended (including Bill 96 / Law 14).
Fasting, labs, and “protocols”
The word “protocol” on this site means an original food-pattern note, not a medical protocol, a clinical pathway, or a licensed therapy. Fasting windows are optional discussion points, not prescriptions.
Blood tests, blood-pressure readings, and supplement blood levels belong with your clinician. Do not interpret a KetoLab report as a lab result.
No warranty
Information is provided “as is” for general education. Nutrition science changes. Individual responses differ. KetoLab, its operators, and contributors are not liable for decisions you make based on the site. This disclaimer does not exclude liability that Canadian law does not allow to be excluded.
